I had the second half of the rituximab on Weds. By last night i had a sore throat. Today my chest is sore and i can't cough properly. I spoke to rh nurse and had to go for a blood test then wait for the result and get a prescription for antibiotics. Two hours of sitting in hosp when all i wanted was bed!

Apart from hamster sized swollen glands and scary bloodshot eyes, should i see this as a sign that the ritux is doing its job?? Cant imagine being fit for xmas dinner marathon in 48 hours... Xx Ailsa

Hi Ailsa

I don't know anything about Rituximab but I hope your symptoms mean that the drug is working. Antibiotics do start to work immediately so I hope you feel much better by Christmas Day and you can enjoy your lunch.

Hi Ailsa

I do hope that it does mean that the Rituximab is working..........................
Also hope that the antibiotics kick in so that you can enjoy Christmas, sadly there are so many bugs around at this time of year.

Wishing you a pain free Christmas

Sue

I`m sorry I can`t answer your question, Ailsa, but I hope the RTX will work, and that the antibiotics kick in soon so that you feel better.

Hello Ailsa,

SOO sorry to hear that you are poorly. There are some dreadful bugs about.

I would like to say it is the RTX is working - but who knows. I have been on 2 lots of antibiotics since my second infusion
of RTX as well. Also the symptoms have not yet sub sided. Good luck Ailsa I do hope the antibiotics work
quickly for you so you can enjoy your holiday break.

Feeling for you right now.

Love Rose x

Hi Ailsa and Rose

I too have had two doses of infection since the second Rituximab infusion along with necessary antibiotics to bring them under control. Sadly, from my own experience, it doesn't seem to mean that the Rituximab is working so don't get your hopes up just yet! Will post on my blog!!

Hope you are both feeling better soon,

Lyn x
